Notebook with adage, “I can do anything, not everything.”

Visiting office to office at work, I see printouts of adages taped to desks or pinned to walls intended to inspire.

One co-worker has “behind every successful woman is herself” and “every day may not be good but there is something good in every day.”

I loved them so much I had to write them down.

There are many health benefits to telling ourselves positive mottos. Surrounding ourselves with positive thoughts is a great way to start.

When using adages, find the ones that speak to you or create your own.

Here’s one I came up with.

Let others see the generous woman they know you to be, then let them convince you.

This adage speaks to me. While I intrinsically know who I am, I get clouded through insecurity and judgment. This motto brings me back to myself.

What’s your favourite adage or quote?
