They Don’t Call it Wonderful For Nothing.
This inspirational challenge will brighten your day.
My recent blip of illness affected everything I love, even the beauty of writing.
We, as authors, draw inspiration from anywhere, everywhere — even that speck of dust screaming for attention or the howling winter wind that sends most of us scurrying home. Yet, I admit lately that I forgot to relish the little things until my cat, Skye, reminded me that a windblown leaf doing somersaults on our balcony can cause hours of entertainment.
How silly of me to forget that it doesn’t take much to attract a curious mind.
So, I challenged myself to list twenty situations, places, or things that tweaked my wonder today in real time.
Here’s what I found:
1. Guessing the mystery person with heavy footsteps is not as easy as one might think.
2. The communal printer at work is spitting out sheets of paper. I wonder what’s on it.
3. Listening to the clicking of computer keys reminds me of repetitive drumbeats.
4. The weather forecast says partly cloudy. So far, it’s wrong.
5. The tone that my coworker uses toward Alexa irks me. Why can’t he treat her kindly?
