Paywall or Readers: Which Did I Choose?

A series of events helped me make the choice.

I was at a crossroads yesterday when Medium changed its format, allowing only members to read my stories under the paywall.

This is where we, as writers, must decide what is more important: to make money or allow access to everyone who wants to read what we write.

Many of you know I am writing a series, and I couldn’t be happier to see followers enjoying Raven’s mysterious adventure. And just when the going is getting especially good.

I have decided, for this reason, to make this series accessible to all readers and not put it behind the paywall.

As many say, the more readers, the merrier.

I hope once this series is complete, I will edit it into a novelette. For this reason, I welcome and appreciate your comments.

I noticed that Chapter Nineteen did not get sent to my email or others, so please be sure you didn’t miss it. It’s a pivotal chapter you shouldn’t ignore.

Raven and I thank you for being a part of her journey and allowing me to continue writing a series that’s bringing me closer to my vision of living an inspired life and having a book to show for it.

Let’s bring you up to speed.

Raven is a fictional character who grows up on a farm under her father’s watchful eye. She is an only child and a favoured daughter, so when he falls gravely ill, Raven struggles with the news. She races to the forest, witnessing a robbery in progress involving a banker, a trigger-happy delinquent, and the mystery that ensues.

Final Note: I’m trying to publish each chapter consistently on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, so please keep a watch for them. If you’ve missed any, you can visit the series link at the end of each story to start from the beginning and get the full story or find the chapter you need, or click the link below.

Here is the series.
