Our problem is that some idiot put our thermostat by our balcony door so if I open the door for air, it makes the thermostat feel like the room is hotter or colder than it really is and that messes with the heating and air conditioning. The result is that I need to keep the balcony door closed or shut off the thermostat. : (

I hope you're able to remodel, but during the process, I bet it will be a pain in the butt.
