One year I was scheduled for an MRI right around the time I got my ears double pierced. The rings weren't easily removed. Like you, when I find out they couldn't do the scan we tried everything (at 3 in the morning) to remove them--jumper cables, running into a convenience store seeking pliers, etc. Finally I went to the nearby hospital's emergency room and they graciously removed them for me and I made my appointment in time. Wow, I forgot about this story.
