Last week’s weather reporter got it wrong. It called for a thunderstorm all day. But, although the sky was ominous, the rain never came.

I wasn’t sure we could handle another storm so close to the last. The one where winds reached 130 km, downed trees across city streets and on top of cars and left many without power.

My neighbourhood was lucky. We missed the hail and the heavy rain — even the wind was manageable.
