FEBRUARY 28-DAY CHALLENGE
I’ve Kissed Many Frogs in Search of My Prince.
Day 17: My First Kiss.
Keeley, are you kidding me? As if remembering where I put my glasses or what I ate for dinner last night wasn’t bad enough. Now you want me to think back over sixty years ago to talk about my first kiss? I assume it was from my mother when I was born. But I hardly remember it. Can you blame me?
Next, we have the first awkward kiss. This was at a party where all of us school graders gathered around in a circle, boy after girl, with an empty pop bottle and smiles. Remember that game where someone spins the bottle, and you kiss whoever it points to? How uncomfortable was that? Especially if it was someone unattractive, but we kissed. We mostly liked it, and with some, we even loved it. But that’s not where I learned to kiss. After all, in this game, the kiss was only a peck.
So, you’d think I got kissing lessons from the game, “Seven minutes in heaven.” Many friends thought this game was the bee's knees, but not me. Each time I went into the closet with a random boy, I sat in the dark. Legs closed and lips sealed, we even kept our hands to ourselves. Was I that undesirable? Maybe, or maybe my anxiety turned the guy off.
