I had one episode where I went limp and numb on one side with other symptoms and I went to a neurologist who at first thought I had writer's cramp. Then I went to an M.S. specialist who considered my MRI results with lesions, my father's history of M.S., my bipolar diagnosis, and my episode and quickly determined I had MS. That was in 2001.
