Day One prompt: Share some glimmers from your day

With triggers running rampant, I almost missed this first day of prompting for the month. But I would not bow to defeat. I looked for the rose in a bed of thorns.

The day is almost done, and for me, that’s a glimmer. After a hard, emotionally charged day, nothing spells comfort than seeing my puffy duvet, ergonomic pillow, and new cuddly kitten. Huey and I have a playful bedtime routine. I snuggle his tiny body, drown him in kisses, then gently lay him down on the mattress, knowing that in seconds he’ll get the zoomies and pounce on my arm.

So, I come to bed prepared, always armed and ready with a crinkle ball. These toys are the best, and it’s no wonder Huey’s vet gifted one to him.

I didn’t need to train my furry lovebug on how to fetch. He’s been a natural since we brought him home. I think he believes his balls are dead mice and that I’m his mother. Each night, he proudly carries his prey to my side and drops it within reach. Tonight will be no different. Our playtime is my glimmer of the hour.
