Day Twenty-Two: Do You Believe In Happily Ever After?

I almost held up the white flag — skipped this topic entirely, hoping nobody would notice. But I couldn’t let myself down. I refused to succumb to defeat. Since January first, I have written daily to Keeley Schroder’s topics, bearing my heart and soul regardless of how embarrassing or challenging. But today’s topic floored me and sent me kicking and screaming. What do I think of living happily ever after? It’s not as easy as one might think, but not for the reasons you’d assume.

When people think about living happily ever after, they speak of finding the perfect partner. Well, I’m fortunate. I’ve found him. If you haven’t met him, I’d like to introduce you to Ed. He’s my sweetie, my life partner. The man I love to the moon and back. The one who says he loves me more.

So, what’s my issue? Why is this topic so triggering?

It’s not the “ever after” that makes me cringe. It’s the “happily” that threatens to make me fall.
