I know little about plants. Once I had a lovely vegetable garden in my youth, but its care was best tended to by my aunt, who lived in the same duplex. I had difficulties with responsibility, so minding foliage was not high on my list of to-dos. Still, when asked by Keeley Schroder if I were a plant, what would I be, the answer came instantly — a Venus Fly Trap, no doubt. It’s not that I have a habit of eating people, but I have an attitude, and if you’re not careful, you might fall into my snare.

I’m known for speaking my mind, of not mincing my words. I come by it, honestly. What can I say? Do you prefer I lie? Don’t I have a duty to speak my truth if it’s in your best interest, even if it isn’t always what you want to hear? I thought that was the beauty of friendship, or maybe not. If it were true, I’d have a shitload of friends.

Unfortunately, I need to bite into issues, getting to the heart of them. I’m not into idle chit-chat. If we talk, I want to delve deep, or you’ll quickly lose my attention. It’s not that I’m difficult. It’s more about how I prefer to spend my time. I enjoy feeling like I matter; I’m not someone with whom to bide your time.
