Day Twenty-Four: A time in your life where you felt most loved?

And they did it out of the goodness of their hearts.

Reflecting on the days I felt most loved, I’m transported to my early childhood years when dad could walk, cuddle, and share his profound adoration for his only daughter. I can still feel his warmth which I carry in my heart, remembering the early mornings when I’d hop into my parents’ bed to bring in the morning light. Everything felt right. I felt cherished in every way. It was during these years that my family showed me they loved me and that I belonged in this universe. I felt valued and protected. Our home was a safe place. I’ve never forgotten how that felt.

Then dad’s Multiple Sclerosis worsened, and my world fell apart.

Illness continued to plague me throughout the years, his and mine, but through it all, my mother stayed by my side. You may wonder when the second time I most felt loved. It happened three years ago when I put my needs aside and gave my attention to my husband, Ed, in the purest form possible as his caregiver. That’s when my family pulled together to give me what I needed. And I loved it.
