Day Twenty-Eight: What Is the Holiday You Love Celebrating Most?
Spoiler alert: It isn’t Christmas or Easter.
I searched through the Rolodex of holidays and came up with nothing. So I googled “list holidays,” and still nothing inspired me. No holiday jumped off the page. And then it hit me. How had I almost missed it? The holiday I love celebrating the most is today. Today marks my second vacation day, with holiday cheer: no stress, few commitments, just a week filled with joy. By choice, I’m not leaving the country, but relaxation is still part of the plan.
I’d set my work holiday in advance, but for three weeks, it kept being postponed before I put my foot down and told myself it was time to take it. Of course, there would always be something important to do, but my need for rest could no longer wait. So, here I am. I’m writing these challenges to my heart’s content and intend to see family as dust winks at me, doctors’ appointments beg for booking, and my novelette screams for attention.
I wonder what to do first. And through this dilemma, it’s off to bed for my beauty sleep because it’s just past midnight. I can’t wait to see what the morning brings.
