Over the years, I’ve become so high maintenance that envisioning a night out is difficult. The temperature of my surroundings can’t be too hot, the area can’t have perfumed or strong smells, and I can’t eat anything with garlic ruling most restaurants out. And let’s not forget my social anxiety, and the fact I don’t drive at night adds an extra dose of challenge.

Does that mean my ideal date night must happen at home? More than likely. But if I close my eyes and imagine life without limitations, I might come up with an answer. After all, a girl can dream.

Let’s take stock of all the things that bring me enjoyment and see if we can’t weave them into a fantasy night fit for this princess.

I love kittens and coffee, so my perfect date night might be at a cat café. The place where shelter cats roam the premises searching for a home while visitors sip a cappuccino and get to know their furry companions. I’ve never visited one. I’d love to check one out, but unfortunately, we’re not in the market for a new pet.

I also love board games and chocolate; therefore, I’d enjoy visiting a bistro…
