Crime Always Pays- Chapter Three
Raven was a very likeable child.
She minded her manners, did her chores, and volunteered at the local library in her spare time. For all intents and purposes, she was a model child.
“You’ve got a fine one there, Floyd,” Hank, the storekeeper said whenever Floyd came to town.
“Yes, I am a lucky man,” the proud father replied. But deep down, he knew Raven was miserable. Despite her cheerful façade, there lived a restless adolescent.
“Give her time,” Frances told her husband. She’s a teenager, being moody comes with the territory.
Raven’s mother knew their daughter best, but what about the books she was reading?
“The Happy Traveller” and “How to Grow Your Own Herbal Tea Garden” seemed innocent enough. These were the aspirations of an entrepreneurial thinker planning on carving a niche in this world.
But “How to skin a squirrel” was not.
