Day Four Prompt: What’s the best age to get married?

I don’t want to sound uncertain, but the best age to get married is individualistic, based on maturity, life vision, and whether you’ve found someone to love. I can’t say I followed this mindset because I married before I was mature. However, if I held myself to that standard, I’d still be waiting since I’m a big kid at heart.

Back in my mother’s day, women married early, and when I was a young adult, I was further in years. But by many people’s standards, I was young at twenty-three years old. Young or not, I felt the timing was right. After all, Marty and I had dated for four years before he popped the question. I knew what I wanted, and it wasn’t to wait.

Although many people strive to make it rich before they tie the knot, that wasn’t me. I believed struggling and growing together toward a common goal was what relationships were all about. Achieving our goals together gave working alongside each other merit, and if we failed, there was no one person to blame. Together, we rise, or we fall.
