Before the Robin Sings, Creativity Comes Calling
That’s when I’m in my element.
Day Twenty prompt: What’s your favourite time of day?
To choose a favourite time of day, one would assume I follow a routine. That’s when I could relish in moments — consistently. So, let’s look at a typical day and see if we can figure this out.
7 a.m. — the time I usually wake up, leaving me no time to write or eat breakfast. The morning's highlight is the warm droplets of shower water bringing me to life.
7:30 a.m. — drive to work in a frenzy. On rare occasions, I stop to view the roses, but traffic and red lights highlight the thorns.
Daytime hours — This is when I work in an office surrounded by colleagues. I put out metaphorical fires, support staff, and handle day-to-day business. Although there are highlights to each day, no hours are alike.
Return home — This is the only consistency with routine. It’s when I cook, order in, or prepare dinner, then watch The Young and the Restless. I love immersing myself in the problems of others with no expectations to solve them. It’s the best of both worlds. Who doesn’t love a chance to escape?
