At the beginning of this year, many of us got together and began writing daily to monthly prompts. Some stories made us laugh, others cry. Some had us digging deep. As the months rolled on, many writers joined in. Everyone was welcomed with open arms until suddenly, we had a group of writers who became close, supportive, and in some ways, friends.

For reasons unknown to me, naysayers decided to insinuate their opinions against the group, saying those who participate aren't real writers, that we read each other only for the purpose of having them read ours, blah, blah, blah.

I know we shouldn't listen, but I have to admit it's caused many to leave the group leaving a hole in our hearts and a bad taste in my mouth. It has me questioning my own writing.

I think if some don't agree with a style of writing that's not hurting anyone, don't participate, but also don't criticize and cause harm. That's the gist of it.
